Email Rules

I have decided to set up some rules on when to send me emails. This is to ensure that I don't have to wade through emails that I'm not interested in reading in, and so that I can respond quicker to legitimate emails. Certain emails I get are not even related to this site. If you want to email me, be sure it fits one of the following descriptions. Otherwise, please do not feel offended if I do not reply:

• You have something to add to the guide.
• You want to send corrections concerning the guide.
• Questions concerning RedHat 5.2, RedHat 6.0, Slackware 3.6, or Slackware 4.0 on the Compaq Presario 1230 (eg: installation problems).
• You want to tell me about modems that you got working with Linux and the Compaq Presario 1230.
• Questions on RedHat 5.2, RedHat 6.0, Slackware 3.6, Slackware 4.0, or generic Linux questions. I am not a guru, but I will try to answer your questions as long as they are not questions that are specific to other Linux distributions than to what I have stated.

You can be sure that I will respond to emails that fit the above description and do my best to answer questions. I will not respond to emails that fit the following descriptions:

• Questions concerning installing other Linux distributions on the Compaq Presario 1230.
• Questions concerning other laptop or desktop computer models other than the Compaq Presario 1230.
• Questions concerning installing third party software that was not detailed on the guides.
• Questions concerning how to use Linux.
• Questions concerning how to get certain hardware to work with Linux (eg: printer).
• Emails that are not in English. If English is not your native tongue, or if your English is not very good, please have someone translate your question into proper English before emailing it to me.
• Spam mail. All the addresses with spam in it will be blocked.

As time passes I may update this site and add more rules to it, depending on whatever I forgot to add right now. In the meantime, be sure the subject of your email fits the description that I want so you can be sure that I will reply to it.
