Linux on the Compaq Presario 1230

Welcome to the Linux on the Comapaq Presario 1230 site. This site focuses on installing and configuring Linux on the Compaq Presario 1230 notebook computer. Linux is an operating system created by Linus Torvalds. It's one of the most stable, secure, and fastest running operating system (OS) available. Plus, it's FREE! People may tell you that installing Linux is hard. It's not, as these guides will show you. This site will only focus on installing two Linux distributions: Slackware Linux and RedHat Linux. The reason I am not going to write on other distributions is because I don't have the time nor the wish to download or buy them. Before you begin reading the guides, read the Disclaimer.
